Secure Vestibules

School Security in the Logan City School District

In response to patron feedback regarding student safety, and in an effort to provide a secure learning environment for students, the Logan City School District has installed secure vestibules at each school’s main entrance. These vestibules will be locked during school hours, and visitors to the school will need authorization from the school’s office staff before they will be granted access to the main building. The vestibules will allow visitors to seek shelter from the weather while limiting their access to the school until approved by school staff.

These procedures are new to our community, and may create delays at times. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to provide appropriate access to the school for our patrons, while providing a secure environment for our students and staff.

School Entry Procedures

Visitors should enter the school at the main entrance. Upon entering the vestibule, all visitors (including parent volunteers) must stop at the security camera to request access to the school. Visitors will be asked their name, and the reason for their visit to the school. If they are coming to see or pick up a particular student, they will be asked for the name of the student they have come to see. Visitors may then be granted access to the building.

Upon entering the building, all adults and visitors must proceed to the Main Office where they will be asked to sign in before visiting a classroom.
